Smart Review (spaced repetition)

Smart Review (spaced repetition)

Smart Review uses spaced repetition — a memory technique that brings a question back right before you'd forget it, at growing intervals. Get one right and it reappears further out; miss it and it comes back sooner. Over a few weeks this moves material into durable long-term memory with far less total study time.

How to use it

  1. Go to Study → Smart Review.
  2. Answer the questions it queues for you today — these are the ones due based on your past performance.
  3. Come back daily. A short daily Smart Review session is more effective than a long weekly one.

Rating how well you recalled it

Every card works the same way: read the question, tap Show answer, then be honest about how it went by tapping one of four buttons:

  • Again (Forgot) — you didn't recall it. The card comes back very soon (today).
  • Hard (Tough) — you got it, but it was a struggle. It comes back sooner than usual.
  • Good (Got it) — you recalled it correctly. It comes back at the normal next interval.
  • Easy (Knew it) — you knew it instantly. The interval jumps further out.

Those four ratings feed the SM-2 spaced-repetition algorithm, which uses them to schedule each question to reappear right before you'd forget it. Rate yourself honestly — the more accurate you are, the better the schedule works. It's a study aid, so there's nothing to game.

Readiness

Your dashboard shows a readiness estimate based on your recent accuracy and coverage, so you get an honest sense of whether you're on track for test day. Smart Review is separate from — and complements — the 5-step method.
